|State legislators recently recognized Delaware's 2015-2016 Superintendent of the Year - Red Clay Superintendent Dr. Merv Daugherty. Rep. Miro was joined by Reps. Deborah Hudson, Mike Ramone and Helene Keeley in presenting a House Tribute to Dr. Daugherty on the floor of the House. The tribute stated the following:
We commend this individual for the remarkable accomplishment of being named with this prestigious title. For six years, he has served as Superintendent of the Red Clay Consolidated School District, the largest school district in Delaware which has 18,300 students, more than 2,200 employees, and thirty-one schools. Through his leadership, contributions, and vision, Dr. Daugherty has proficiently guided his teachers and staff members to enhance the academic life of their students. We applaud his exceptional dedication and commitment in providing quality education to Delaware's children.
